Heathcliff returned back at last, Catherine was too excited to show gladness. Heathcliff looked intelligent. His manner was even polite without roughness. Not long time ago, he heard of Catherinersquo;s marriage. He told himself he was here to have a glimpse of Catherine. After killing Hindlay, he would end himself. However, her welcome had put these ideas out his mind. He fought through a bitter life since he last heard her voice. He struggled only for Catherine. Heathcliff had been very poor and inferior, but Catherine’s word changed him. He loved Catherine, but he could not change her mind and could not marry her. He decided to change himself. Love could change a person. We could say loversquo;s strength was really powerful. His strong love to Catherine made him do so.
From here, we could see some romantic elements.He found any way to revenge the people around Catherine, however, he could tolerate Catherinersquo;s betrayal. He could not hurt her a bit.
